There are three purposes in the Vedas: Sambandha, abhidheya, prayojana.

Sambandha means relationship ;

abhidheya means the activities done to achieve the ultimate goal ;

prayojana means the ultimate goal of life.

So the ultimate goal of life is to understand Krishna.
