1 God is ocean of bliss - Vedant Darshan says and we are His little parts. So we are naturally drawn to that bliss. Just like a river flows to the ocean. The river was created from the ocean.

It was the water vapor of the ocean that rose up into a cloud & the cloud then came to the land and poured down and gathered into the river and the river is now flowing, where - to the ocean, how long will the river flow - until it meets the ocean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK_tI3wQDSg&t=0 2 So, similarly, we are little parts of the ocean of bliss, which is God. So we are naturally seeking bliss. So what I have just explained to you all is three natures of God : Sat Chit and Anand.  God is Sat, eternal, as his little parts we seek to be eternal, hence, we have the desire for life.  God is chit - full of knowledge. As his fragments (अंश), we also wish to be full of knowledge, like Him, hence the yearning to know.  God is Anand and as his little tiny fragments, we also wish to be आनंदमय like God. So Sat Chit Anand is the nature of God.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK_tI3wQDSg&t=68 3 From these three aspects of God, comes our nature, to seek life, to seek knowledge and to seek bliss.  That is why the conclusion is that whether we know it or not, we are all searching for God. Some people they may deny & say I don't believe in God. But do you believe in happiness? Of course, I am trying to be happy 24 hours a day – but that happiness that you are seeking is God.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK_tI3wQDSg&t=147 4 It's like a child goes to the mother and says mummy I don't believe in your husband. The mother says, my dear child, what are you speaking? Do you believe in your father? Yes, I love my papa but I don't believe in your husband. The mother says my dear child, that person whom I address as husband, you address as father, they are not two personalities, they are two ways of addressing one personality.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK_tI3wQDSg&t=183 5 Similarly, somebody may say I am an atheist, I don't believe in God, even that person is engaging in devotion of happiness, and that happiness is God Himself in this matter.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK_tI3wQDSg&t=216 6 There is no duality, you know, even the biggest materialistic philosophers in our Indian tradition, there was Charvak & so Charvak’s philosophy. You may have heard his words, famous words. He said that you are the body, when the body is finished, you are finished. There is no after life. No need to waste your intellect over such matters.  As long as you live, be happy. If you get happiness from ghee, beg, borrow or steal but drink ghee. You know, translated to today's context beg, borrow or steal but take your Vodka and be happy. So although Charvak is so materialistic, what is Charvak’s goal?  Charvak wanted happiness, and in the west we have had so many materialistic philosophers, Sigmund Freud, Karl Marx,  Adam Smith, Berkley etc. They have written big tons of literature.  And when you read them, you will find that they were also proposing different theories on how to be happy. So we all want to be happy. That means we all want God. So our goal is determined & the goal of life is to realize God. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK_tI3wQDSg&t=230 Standby link (in case youtube link does not work): The goal of life is to seek God, sat-chit-ananda Part 4 Goal of Human Life by Swami Mukundananada.mp4

Why did we come into this World? | Goal of Life - Part 5 by Swami Mukundanand

Why did we come into this World? | Goal of Life - Part 5 by Swami Mukundanand

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s Full Text 1  we had progressed in our discussion to this point that we understood why we want happiness because we are fragments of the ocean of bliss and every fragment is drawn to its source.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=10  2  Now why have we not got happiness till today ? The answer to this is actually very simple and obvious that we are searching for happiness in the wrong place, like let's say, you wish to go from Dallas to San Antonio, San Antonio is southward  and you are going northward from San Antonio & hence you are getting further and further away, similarly we are also searching for happiness in the wrong direction, as we don't know where happiness lies. The reason for this confusion is ignorance.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=26  3  We have this veil of ignorance that has covered us & where did the ignorance come from ? Ved Vyas in the Srimad Bhagavatam has explained the reason for ignorance, he says that this soul is “vimukh” to God,  let us suppose this is God and this is the soul, the soul instead of having its face towards God has got the back towards God. Now when you put your back towards God, you get covered by Maya and that is why we are here. God is not only “Anand (Bliss)”, He is also light, knowledge.  If you turn your back to the light, what do you have in front of you, your shadow, darkness, so we turned our backs to God & we got covered by the darkness of the ignorance of Maya, that is why we are here in this physical material world.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=88  4  Many times people ask why are we here ?, students ask more than elders, see students still have curiosity, they wish to know and as elders we have established our beliefs, there is nothing further to know, you see,  when I go to a school they will ask so many questions, a three-year-old will ask me Swamiji what is Shri Krishna’s second name ? oh my God, only a three-year-old can ask that !  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=169  5  So once I was giving a lecture in India, lecture series but there was a student who used to come and attend and he would engage in questions with me, so once the series got over, I was to go to the next town,  he said, Swamiji, I have vacation, can I join you, I will also do Seva, I will volunteer, I said sure, so he accompanied me to the next town as well  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=204  6  Now on Sunday the lecture got over early, we were taking a late evening walk, he asked me this question, why did we come here, not into this town but into this world, why did we come here ? I pondered on how to answer his question, there was a cinema hall in front, I said do you have money for tickets ?  he said, yes Swamiji, I said go and get two, he said for whom I said for you and for me, he said Swamiji you will see a movie ? I said yes, in your company, so he got two tickets and with those we entered into the Indian cinema hall  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=236  7  the cinema hall it was all pitch dark, one usherer (the seating person) with a thin beam torch looked at the tickets and with the beam of the torch, he indicated walk up the stairs, we went up there, another usherer with a thin beam torch saw the tickets and indicated us to sit on those two seats,  myself and the student, we sat down, now the night show was already going on, a whole plot was unfolding on that cinema screen, there was so much of apparent excitement,  a hero, a heroine and a villain, a car chase, a helicopter chase, a policeman. Within 15 minutes this student was completely engrossed in the movie, I hope he doesn't, I hope he does,  I saw that he has forgotten that I am sitting next to him, I said hey, he said, shh…., I said listen, he said, don't disturb, so I caught his little finger and pulled it, oh Swami ji, I said, why did we come here ?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=287  8  you see 15 minutes ago, he had asked me why did we come here into the world, now I turned the tables & I said why did we come here into the cinema hall ? he scanned his whole brain he could not get an answer,  I said never mind, come out now, you will understand the answer to your question, so I said look when we were in the cinema hall you had completely forgotten who am I ? why am I here ? who is next to me ? what purpose is being served ?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=375  9  and the white light in those days, you know, the cinema was different, there would be the celluloid and an intense white light that would pass through it, gather colors and fall on the screen,  so that colored light, you were mistaking it for the reality, this is the hero, this is the heroine, that illusion you had fallen into was because of the darkness of the cinema hall, darkness is conducive to illusion, hallucination.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=417  10  Now supposing the hall manager had come and put on the main light, all the illusion would be finished, o where is my chappal, I hope I've not dropped my handkerchief, let me be the first one into the scooter stand and get out from here,  now you are back in reality, the illusion was because of darkness, light dispels it. Similarly, Maya is the darkness, God is the light, the knowledge, why are we in Maya ?  because we have turned our backs to the light, when you turn your back to God it is natural to be covered by ignorance and because of that Maya, we are here, so what is the illusion out here ? that we have forgotten who we actually are ?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui6m74gA88s&t=455  Transcript 0:10 we had progressed in our discussion to 0:14 this point that we understood why we 0:17 want happiness because we are fragments 0:22 of the ocean of bliss and every fragment 0:26 is drawn to its source. Now why have we 0:31 not got happiness till today ? The answer 0:38 to this is actually very simple and 0:41 obvious that we are searching for happiness 0:44 in the wrong place, like let's say, you 0:49 wish to go from Dallas to San Antonio, 0:54 San Antonio is southward and you are 0:57 going northward from San Antonio & hence you are getting 1:03 further and further away, similarly we 1:08 are also searching for happiness in the 1:12 wrong direction, 1:14 as we don't know where happiness lies. The 1:21 reason for this confusion is ignorance. 1:28 We have this veil of ignorance that has 1:32 covered us & where did the ignorance come 1:37 from ?  Ved Vyas in the Srimad Bhagavatam has 1:43 explained the reason for ignorance, he 1:50 says that this soul is “vimukh” to God, 1:55 let us suppose this is God and this is 1:59 the soul, the soul instead of having its 2:03 face towards God has got the back towards God. 2:08 Now when you put your back  2:11 towards God, you get covered by Maya and 2:16 that is why we are here. God is not only 2:21 “Anand (Bliss)”, He is also light, knowledge. If you 2:27 turn your back to the light, what do you 2:32 have in front of you, 2:34 your shadow, darkness, so we turned our 2:40 backs to God & we got covered by the 2:44 darkness of the ignorance of Maya, that 2:49 is why we are here in this physical material world. Many times people ask 2:54 why are we here ?, students ask more than 2:59 elders, see students still have curiosity, 3:03 they wish to know and as elders we have 3:06 established our beliefs, there is nothing 3:09 further to know, you see, when I go to a 3:13 school they will ask so many questions, a 3:16 three-year-old will ask me Swamiji what 3:18 is Shri Krishna’s second name ?  3:21 oh my God, only a three-year-old 3:24 can ask that ! So once I was giving a 3:29 lecture in India, lecture series but 3:33 there was a student who used to come and 3:34 attend and he would engage in questions 3:38 with me, so once the series got over, I was 3:43 to go to the next town, he said, Swamiji, I 3:46 have vacation, can I join you, I will also 3:49 do Seva, I will volunteer, I said sure, so 3:54 he accompanied me to the next town as 3:56 well, now on Sunday the lecture got over 4:01 early, we were taking a 4:04 late evening walk, he asked me this 4:07 question, why did we come here, not into 4:13 this town but into this world, why did we 4:17 come here ? I pondered on how to answer 4:22 his question, there was a cinema hall in 4:24 front, 4:25 I said do you have money for tickets ? 4:29 he said, yes Swamiji, I said go and get 4:33 two, he said for whom I said for you and 4:36 for me, 4:37 he said Swamiji you will see a movie ? I 4:40 said yes, in your company, so he got two 4:44 tickets and with those we entered into 4:47 the Indian cinema hall, the cinema hall 4:51 it was all pitch dark, one usherer (the seating person) with 4:55 a thin beam torch looked at the 4:57 tickets and with the beam of the torch, 5:00 he indicated walk up the stairs, we went 5:04 up there, another usherer with a thin 5:07 beam torch saw the tickets and indicated us to  5:09 sit on those two seats, myself and the 5:14 student, we sat down, now the night show 5:19 was already going on, a whole plot was 5:24 unfolding on that cinema screen, there 5:27 was so much of apparent excitement, a 5:30 Hero, a heroine and a villain, a car chase, a 5:33 helicopter chase, a policeman. Within 15 5:39 minutes this student was completely 5:42 engrossed in the movie, I hope he doesn't, 5:45 I hope he does, I saw that he has 5:50 forgotten that I am sitting next to him, I said hey, 5:53 he said, shh…., 5:57 I said listen, 6:01 he said, don't disturb, so I caught his little 6:05 finger and pulled it, oh Swami ji, I said, 6:12 why did we come here ? 6:15 you see 15 minutes ago, he had asked me 6:19 why did we come here into the world, now 6:22 I turned the tables & I said why did we come 6:26 here into the cinema hall ? he scanned his 6:30 whole brain he could not get an answer, I 6:33 said never mind, come out now, you will 6:37 understand the answer to your question, 6:40 so I said look when we were in the 6:45 cinema hall you had completely forgotten 6:50 who am I ? why am I here ? who is next to me ? 6:57 what purpose is being served ? and the 7:01 white light in those days, you know, the 7:03 cinema was different, there would be the 7:06 celluloid and an intense white light 7:08 that would pass through it, gather colors 7:12 and fall on the screen, so that colored 7:15 light, you were mistaking it for the 7:19 reality, this is the hero, this is the 7:21 heroine, that illusion you had fallen 7:26 into was because of the darkness of the 7:31 cinema hall, darkness is conducive to 7:35 illusion, hallucination. Now supposing the 7:40 hall manager had come and put on the 7:42 main light, all the illusion would 7:47 be finished,  o where is my chappal, I hope 7:50 I've not dropped my handkerchief, let me 7:52 be the first one into the scooter stand 7:54 and get out from here, now you are back 7:58 in reality, the illusion was because of 8:03 darkness, light dispels it. 8:07 Similarly, Maya is the darkness, God is the light, 8:12 the knowledge, why are we in Maya ? because we 8:16 have turned our backs to the light,  8:20 when you 8:23 turn your back to God it is natural to 8:27 be covered by ignorance and because of 8:30 that Maya, we are here, 8:33 so what is the illusion out here ? that we have 8:37 forgotten who we actually are ?
