He can, therefore, sit silently at any place and enjoy the activities of life from within.

Such a liberated person no longer desires external material happiness.

Gita shloka 5.23. Before giving up this present body, if one is able to tolerate the urges of the material senses and check the force of desire and anger, he is a yogi and is happy in this world, 13th Sept

Gita shloka 5.23. Before giving up this present body, if one is able to tolerate the urges of the material senses and check the force of desire and anger, he is a yogi and is happy in this world. Material desires, when unsatiated, generate anger, and thus the mind, eyes and chest become agitated. One who is able to control the forces of all these different senses, and the mind, is called gosvami, or svami.

TRANSLATION

Before giving up this present body, if one is able to tolerate the urges of the material senses and check the force of desire and anger, he is a yogi and is happy in this world.

PURPORT

lf one wants to make steady progress on the path of self-realization, he must try to control the forces of the material senses.

There are the forces of talk, forces of anger, forces of mind, forces of the stomach, forces of the genitals, and forces of the tongue.

One who is able to control the forces of all these different senses, and the mind, is called gosvami, or svami.

Such gosvamis live strictly controlled lives and forego altogether the forces of the senses.

Material desires, when unsatiated, generate anger, and thus the mind, eyes and chest become agitated.

Therefore, one must practice to control them before one gives up this material body.

One who can do this is understood to be self-realized and is thus happy in the state of self-realization.

It is the duty of the transcendentalist to try strenuously to control desire and anger.

Gita shloka 5.22. there is no reason to labor very hard for sense pleasure while in this human form of life; such pleasures are available to the stool-eaters [hogs],12th Sept

Gita shloka 5.22. there is no reason to labor very hard for sense pleasure while in this human form of life; such pleasures are available to the stool-eaters [hogs]. Rather, you should undergo penances in this life by which your existence will be purified, and, as a result, you will be able to enjoy unlimited transcendental bliss. An intelligent person does not take part in the sources of misery, which are due to contact with the material senses. O son of Kunti, such pleasures have a beginning and an end, and so the wise man does not delight in them.

 TRANSLATION

An intelligent person does not take part in the sources of misery, which are due to contact with the material senses. O son of Kunti, such pleasures have a beginning and an end, and so the wise man does not delight in them.

PURPORT

Material sense pleasures are due to the contact of the material senses, which are all temporary because the body itself is temporary.

A liberated soul is not interested in anything which is temporary.

Knowing well the joys of transcendental pleasures, how can a liberated soul agree to enjoy false pleasure? In the Padma Purana it is said:

ramante yogino 'nante satyananda-cid-atmani
iti rama-padenasau param brahmabhidhiyate

"The mystics derive unlimited transcendental pleasures from the Absolute Truth, and therefore the Supreme Absolute Truth, the Personality of Godhead, is also known as Rama."

In the Srimad-Bhagavatam also it is said:

nayam deho deha-bhajam nr-loke
kastan kaman arhate vid-bhajam ye
tapo divyam putraka yena sattvam
suddhyed yasmad brahma-saukhyam tv anantam.

"My dear sons, there is no reason to labor very hard for sense pleasure while in this human form of life; such pleasures are available to the stool-eaters [hogs].

Rather, you should undergo penances in this life by which your existence will be purified, and, as a result, you will be able to enjoy unlimited transcendental bliss." (Bhag.5.5.1)

Therefore, those who are true yogis or learned transcendentalists are not attracted by sense pleasures, which are the causes of continuous material existence.

The more one is addicted to material pleasures, the more he is entrapped by material miseries.

तेरा दीदार क्यों नहीं होता, Vinod Agarwal Bhajan lyrics, tera deedar kyon nahin hota

 तेरा दीदार क्यों नहीं होता

मुझपे उपकार क्यों नहीं होता

WHY CAN’T I SEE YOU?

WHY AM I NOT GRACED BY YOU ?

मैं गुनेहगार फिर भी तेरा हूँ

तुम पर एतबार क्यों नहीं होता

मेरा उद्धार क्यों नहीं होता

I KNOW I AM YOUR CULPRIT (THAT I FORGOT YOU ALTOGETHER)

BUT WHY MY FAITH IS NOT STEADIED 100% ON YOU?

WHY CAN’T I COME CLOSE TO YOU ?

लाखों पापी तूने तार दिए

मेरा उद्धार क्यों नहीं होता

LAKHS OF SINNERS HAVE BEEN REDEEMED BY YOU.

BUT WHY AM I NOT BENEFITTED ?(,I.E., HOW AM I DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SINNERS)

तेरे दामन में छुपके रो लेता

ऐसा इक बार क्यों नहीं होता

I WOULD CRY AT YOUR FEET ATONING FOR MY LAPSES

BUT WHY DOES THIS NOT HAPPEN ATLEAST ONCE ?

तेरी रहमत की चार बूंदो का

ये हक़दार क्यूँ नहीं होता

FOR A DROP OF YOUR BENEVOLENCE

WHY THIS HARASSED BEING IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ?

तेरी चौखट पे जो किया मैंने

सिजदा स्वीकार क्यों नहीं होता

I HAVE PRAYED A LOT AT YOUR DOORSTEP FOR YOUR MERCY

BUT WHY IS MY PRAYER NOT ACCEPTED ?

Bhagvat: The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of material energy, 10th Sept

Bhagvat: The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of material energy. The body of the conditioned soul is planned by the Lord for suffering in the material world through the agency of the external energy. If a conditioned soul, thinking of the Lord as an enemy or a friend, somehow or other becomes attached to the Lord, he receives great benefit. The conditioned soul, being in the bodily conception of life, considers his body to be his self and considers everything in relationship with the body to be his. Because he has this wrong conception of life, he is subjected to dualities like praise and chastisement.

TRANSLATION

Sri Sukadeva Gosvämi said: After hearing the request of Mahäräja Yudhishthira, Närada Muni, the most powerful spiritual master, who knew everything, was very pleased. Thus he replied in the presence of everyone taking part in the yajna.

TRANSLATION

The great sage Sri Näradaji said: O King, blasphemy and praise, chastisement and respect, are experienced because of ignorance. The body of the conditioned soul is planned by the Lord for suffering in the material world through the agency of the external energy.

PURPORT

In Bhagavad-gitä (18.61) it is said:

"The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of material energy."

A material body is manufactured by the external energy according to the direction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The conditioned soul, being seated on this machine, wanders throughout the universe, and because of his bodily conception of life he only suffers.

Actually the suffering of being blasphemed and the enjoyment of being praised, the acceptance of a good welcome or of chastisement by harsh words, are felt in the material conception of life; but since the body of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is not material but sac-cid-änanda-vigraha, He is unaffected by insults or greetings, blasphemy or prayers. Being always unaffected and complete, He does not feel extra pleasure when offered nice prayers by the devotee, although the devotee benefits by offering prayers to the Lord.

Indeed, the Lord is very kind to His so-called enemy because one who always thinks of the Personality of Godhead as an enemy also benefits, although he thinks of the Lord adversely. If a conditioned soul, thinking of the Lord as an enemy or a friend, somehow or other becomes attached to the Lord, he receives great benefit.

TRANSLATION

My dear King, the conditioned soul, being in the bodily conception of life, considers his body to be his self and considers everything in relationship with the body to be his. Because he has this wrong conception of life, he is subjected to dualities like praise and chastisement.

PURPORT

Only when a conditioned soul accepts the body as himself does he feel the effects of chastisement or praise. Then he determines one person to be his enemy and another his friend and wants to chastise the enemy and welcome the friend. This creation of friends and enemies is a result of one's bodily conception of life.
