Gita shloka 3.14, ALL LIVING BODIES SUBSIST ON FOOD GRAINS, WHICH ARE PRODUCED FROM RAIN. RAINS ARE PRODUCED BY PERFORMANCE OF YAJÑA, 20th June

Gita shloka 3.14, 20th June

TRANSLATION

All living bodies subsist on food grains, which are produced from rain. Rains are produced by performance of yajña [sacrifice], and yajña is born of prescribed duties.

PURPORT

Śrīla Baladeva Vidyābhūṣaṇa, a great commentator on the Bhagavad-gītā, writes as follows: ye indrādy-aṅga-tayāvasthitaṁ yajñaṁ sarveśvaraṁ viṣṇum abhyarccya taccheṣam aśnanti tena taddeha-yāntrāṁ sampādayanti te santaḥ sarveśvarasya bhaktāḥ sarva-kilviṣair anādi-kāla-vivṛddhair ātmānubhava- pratibandhakair nikhilaiḥ pāpair vimucyante.

The Supreme Lord, who is known as the yajña-puruṣaḥ, or the personal beneficiary of all sacrifices, is the master of all demigods who serve Him as the different limbs of the body serve the whole.

Demigods like Indra, Candra, Varuṇa, etc., are appointed officers who manage material affairs, and the Vedas direct sacrifices to satisfy these demigods so that they may be pleased to supply air, light and water sufficiently to produce food grains.

When Lord Kṛṣṇa is worshiped, the demigods, who are different limbs of the Lord, are also automatically worshiped; therefore there is no separate need to worship the demigods.

For this reason, the devotees of the Lord, who are in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, offer food to Kṛṣṇa and then eat-a process which nourishes the body spiritually.

By such action not only are past sinful reactions in the body vanquished, but the body becomes immunized to all contamination of material nature.

When there is an epidemic disease, an antiseptic vaccine protects a person from the attack of such an epidemic.

Similarly, food offered to Lord Viṣṇu and then taken by us makes us sufficiently resistant to material affection, and one who is accustomed to this practice is called a devotee of the Lord.

Therefore, a person in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, who eats only food offered to Kṛṣṇa, can counteract all reactions of past material infections, which are impediments to the progress of self-realization.

On the other hand, one who does not do so continues to increase the volume of sinful action, and this prepares the next body to resemble hogs and dogs, to suffer the resultant reactions of all sins.

The material world is full of contaminations, and one who is immunized by accepting prasādam of the Lord (food offered to Viṣṇu) is saved from the attack, whereas one who does not do so becomes subjected to contamination.

Food grains or vegetables are factually eatables.

The human being eats different kinds of food grains, vegetables, fruits, etc., and the animals eat the refuse of the food grains and vegetables, grass, plants, etc.

Human beings who are accustomed to eating meat and flesh must also depend on the production of vegetation in order to eat the animals.

Therefore, ultimately, we have to depend on the production of the field and not on the production of big factories.

The field production is due to sufficient rain from the sky, and such rains are controlled by demigods like Indra, sun, moon, etc., and they are all servants of the Lord.

The Lord can be satisfied by sacrifices; therefore, one who cannot perform them will find himself in scarcity-that is the law of nature.

Yajña, specifically the saṅkīrtana-yajña prescribed for this age, must therefore be performed to save us at least from scarcity of food supply.

(saṅkīrtana-yajña  means  HARE KRISHNA MAHAMANTRA)

Bhagvat: ACTUALLY, THE LIVING ENTITY IN HIS PURE CONDITION IS ALWAYS VERY NEAR AND DEAR TO THE LORD, AND THE LORD IS DEAR TO HIM, 20th June

ACTUALLY, THE LIVING ENTITY IN HIS PURE CONDITION IS ALWAYS VERY NEAR AND DEAR TO THE LORD, AND THE LORD IS DEAR TO HIM

TRANSLATION
He holds no one as very dear and no one as inimical.

He has no one for His own relative, and no one is alien to Him.

He is actually the soul of the soul of all living entities.

Thus He is the auspicious friend of all living beings and is very near and dear to all of them.

PURPORT
The Supreme Personality of Godhead, in His second feature, is the Supersoul of all living entities.

As one's self is extremely dear, the Superself of the self is still more dear.

No one can be the enemy of the friendly Superself, who is equal to everyone.

RELATIONSHIPS OF DEARNESS OR ENMITY BETWEEN THE SUPREME LORD AND THE LIVING BEINGS ARE DUE TO THE INTERVENTION OF THE ILLUSORY ENERGY.

BECAUSE THE THREE MODES OF MATERIAL NATURE INTERVENE BETWEEN THE LORD AND THE LIVING BEINGS, THESE DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIPS APPEAR.

ACTUALLY, THE LIVING ENTITY IN HIS PURE CONDITION IS ALWAYS VERY NEAR AND DEAR TO THE LORD, AND THE LORD IS DEAR TO HIM.

THERE IS NO QUESTION OF PARTIALITY OR ENMITY.

Bhagvat: ACCORDING TO THE KARMA OF THE LIVING ENTITY, A BODY IS PREPARED UNDER THE SUPREME LORD'S SUPERVISION, 19th June

according to the karma of the living entity, a body is prepared under the Supreme Lord's supervision

Extract from Srimad Bhagvatam

TRANSLATION
When the Supreme Personality of Godhead creates different types of bodies, offering a particular body to each living entity according to his character and fruitive actions, the Lord revives all the qualities of material nature—sattva-guna, rajo-guna and tamo-guna. Then, as the Supersoul, He enters each body and influences the qualities of creation, maintenance and annihilation, using sattva-guna for maintenance, rajo-guna for creation and tamo-guna for annihilation.

PURPORT
Although material nature is conducted by the three qualities—sattva-guna, rajo-guna and tamo-guna—nature is not independent. As the Lord says in Bhagavad-gitä (9.10):

"This material nature is working under My direction, O son of Kunti, and it is producing all moving and unmoving beings.

By its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.”

The different changes in the material world take place as actions and reactions of the three gunas, but above the three gunas is their director, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

In the various types of bodies given to the living entities by material nature (yanträrüdhäni mäyayä), either sattva-guna, rajo-guna or tamo-guna is prominent.

The body is produced by material nature according to the direction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Therefore it is said here, yadä sisrkshum pura ätmanam param, indicating that the body is certainly created by the Lord.

Karmanä daiva-netrena: according to the karma of the living entity, a body is prepared under the Supreme Lord's supervision.

Whether the body is of sattva-guna, rajo-guna or tamo-guna, everything is done by the direction of the Supreme Lord through the agency of the external energy (prthak sva-mäyayä).

In this way, in different types of bodies, the Lord (isvara) gives directions as Paramätmä, and again, to destroy the body, He employs the tamo-guna.

This is the way the living entities receive different types of bodies.

IF EVER THERE IS GOING TO BE A CHANGE FOR BETTER IN YOUR LIFE, IT IS GOING TO BE THROUGH THE MEANS OF A SAINT / DEVOTEE #Blog0042

If ever there is going to be a change for better in your life, it is going to be through the means of a saint / devotee

Even Lord Shankar prays repeatedly(बार बार) for non-stop loving devotion & satsang

It is one thing to have feeling of devotion but quite another that the devotion stays on continuously

Many feel that in katha, only one thing is repeated endlessly…

so how many times can we listen to the same thing again & again & what happens on listening repeatedly

(Flat Hammer on a long handle for levelling concrete)

For creating a solid Foundation after filling concrete, the flat hammer is hit again and again repeatedly ; why ?

so as to create a strong foundation.

Likewise your repeatedly listening to the Katha is like repeated hammering your mind to wake up so as to move from untruth to Truth, from darkness to Light, from mortality to Immortality

If the mind does not “clean up” (निर्मल), it would of course be kept trapped in “dirt”, as already so in countless births in untruth, darkness & mortality.

Lord Himself says,

"निर्मल मन जन, सो ही मोहे पावा, मोहे छल छिद्र कपट ना भावा"   i.e., I'm attained by only a निर्मल (clean) heart

& I (God) don't like छल (deceipt) छिद्र (seeing faults in others) & कपट (selfishness)

YOU CANNOT ADDRESS LORD UNLESS YOU KNOW YOURSELF WHO YOU ARE #Blog0041

YOU CANNOT ADDRESS LORD UNLESS YOU KNOW YOURSELF WHO YOU ARE

Guru/saint – when he comes in your life, takes your letter to Lord & brings His acknowledgement to you.

When writing a letter, it is vital to write both ADDRESSEE & ADDRESSOR

But what will you write as an ADDRESSOR – you are not at all acquainted with you yourself – so you cannot write a letter to Lord unless you know yourself who you are
